Mike Wallace is a founding partner and Chief Investment Officer of White Pine Capital. He is an Analyst/Portfolio Manager, and is also a member of the firm’s Management Committee.
Mike brings nearly 20 years of experience guiding individuals along their path of economic independence and managing institutional accounts. Mike’s industry experience began 1987 as a Financial Analyst for Allstate Insurance Company. From 1991-1993 he attended Cornell University, earning his MBA focused on Finance and Accounting. Upon graduation, he joined Piper Capital Management in Minneapolis, where he served as an analyst and portfolio manager for the Piper Jaffray Growth and Income Fund, separate institutional accounts and individuals. In 1996, Mike joined Mitchell Hutchins Asset Management, providing the opportunity to form closer relationships with clients and helping further develop the firm’s investment process and products. In 2000 he was part of the buy-out team that purchased Mitchell Hutchins’ interest in the Twin Cities office, thereby legally forming White Pine Capital.
In addition to his MBA from Cornell University, Mike holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation. He is a member of the CFA Institute and the CFA Society of Minnesota.
